Alvi lamented the tragedy in a tweet on X and condemned terrorism as a worldwide evil demanding joint action. “Pakistan having endured the worst of terrorism for decades, is still fighting back with determination. The world must stand together in its efforts,” he tweeted while emphasizing that differences should be addressed through peaceful means.
But Alvi also cautioned India against “unjustly implicating Pakistan” or attempting to use the incident to fuel tensions. “Any reckless attempt to blame Pakistan will be met with a unified national response,” he declared.
Notably, no Indian official has directly blamed Pakistan for the attack so far. Yet, Alvi’s remarks, along with similar statements by other Pakistani leaders, have sparked speculation. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed Pakistan had “nothing to do” with the incident, attributing it instead to “local dissatisfaction” and “homegrown forces” within the region.
Meanwhile, an outfit affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, called The Resistance Front (TRF), has claimed responsibility, reportedly. Its top brass, including leaders like Sajid Jatt and Sajjad Gul both associated with Pakistan-based terror groups have brought Islamabad’s indirect role to the limelight.
Fanning the flames further, a recent provocative speech by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, in which he reiterated Pakistan’s claim on Kashmir, is going viral in Indian circles.
India, though, has promised a stern retaliation. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated, “We will track down not only the attackers but also those masterminding these crimes from the shadows.”
The probe is ongoing, with intelligence agencies working to identify all connections to the cross-border terror conspiracy.
