Pakistan’s internal security challenges continue to escalate as Baloch insurgents intensify their attacks against the Pakistani Army, and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Qatal is assassinated. Indian experts believe these events could lead to greater isolation for Pakistan on the global stage.
Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Increases Attacks on Pakistan Army
Former Indian diplomat Suresh K Goel highlighted the growing number of attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on the Pakistani Army. He emphasized that the insurgency in Balochistan is strengthening, with two major attacks occurring within days.
“The BLA is intensifying its attacks against the Pakistani Army. Even if the army responds with force, the demands of the Baloch people for their rights will only grow louder,” Goel stated.
He also noted that Pakistan’s dependence on China could become a problem if Beijing finds its investments in Pakistan untenable. Additionally, he pointed out that support from Gulf nations is also declining, adding to Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic woes.
BLA Attack in Balochistan’s Noshki District
On Sunday, a terrorist attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) convoy in Balochistan’s Noshki district left five people dead, including three FC personnel and two civilians. The BLA claimed responsibility for the attack.
The incident involved a bomb explosion followed by a suicide bombing. Security forces retaliated swiftly, killing four terrorists, including the suicide bomber.
Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorist Abu Qatal Shot Dead
Meanwhile, in another major development, Abu Qatal, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist and nephew of Hafiz Saeed, was shot dead in Jhelum, Pakistan, by unknown gunmen.
Defense expert Shiwalee Deshpande confirmed that Qatal was responsible for numerous terror activities in India, particularly in Poonch and Rajouri, and was involved in the deadly 2024 Reasi Bus attack.
“Qatal had a deep hatred towards Hindus and was responsible for multiple attacks in Jammu. His killing marks a significant blow to LeT,” Deshpande added.
Reports from The News International, an Islamabad-based outlet, state that Qatal was killed on the Mangla-Jhelum Road, where an assailant opened fire on his vehicle on Saturday night. His armed guard was also killed in the attack.
Pakistan’s Growing Diplomatic Isolation
Experts believe that these incidents reflect Pakistan’s increasing internal instability and its deteriorating relations with key allies. With the Baloch insurgency gaining momentum and terror groups facing setbacks, Pakistan may struggle to maintain its global standing.
As China and Gulf nations reconsider their support for Pakistan, the country’s future looks more uncertain than ever.
