With Joe Biden stepping down from the presidential race and Vice President Kamala Harris stepping in, speculation is rising about a potential alliance between Meghan Markle and Harris. Royal experts suggest that Meghan might endorse Harris, aiming to boost her own profile.
Kinsey Schofield, a royal commentator, shared her thoughts with Sky News Australia. She said, “Meghan might try to align herself with Kamala Harris because it could enhance her own standing.”
Meghan Markle had previously supported Kamala Harris during the 2020 election, expressing enthusiasm for having diverse representation in politics. “As a biracial person, it’s important to see someone who looks like you in office,” Meghan had stated.
Though members of the British royal family usually avoid political involvement, Meghan’s previous roles with the U.S. embassy and as a U.N. advocate show her interest in public affairs.
Could Meghan Markle Endorse Kamala Harris?
According to Schofield, a recent Newsweek poll suggested that 40% of people might be influenced by an endorsement from Meghan and Prince Harry. Schofield explained to GB News that this endorsement could be a strategic move for Meghan, especially with her podcast Archetypes recently canceled.
Meghan’s career is at a crossroads, and her future with Netflix could significantly impact her public life. There is speculation that she may dive more into political activism. Schofield noted that Meghan has worked with notable figures like Stacey Abrams, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, and Michelle Obama on voter campaigns in 2020.
Schofield also pointed out that Prince Harry and Meghan’s subtle endorsement of Joe Biden during the Time 100 event suggested their support for change in the 2020 election.
