Indian Army Releases Video of Swift Response to Pakistani Strikes: ‘Befitting Reply’ Given

The Indian Army issued a detailed statement after it intercepted a large-scale, coordinated attack by Pakistan on Thursday night. In response to this aggression, Indian forces launched a firm counter-offensive.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have been escalating since the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists in Kashmir. This attack, allegedly carried out by terrorists supported by Pakistani groups, prompted India to launch “Operation Sindoor” two weeks later. The operation targeted nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistani drones and missiles repelled

In its Thursday morning statement, the Indian Army said: “Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.”

“The drone attacks were effectively repulsed, and a befitting reply was given to the CFVs.” “#IndianArmy remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded to with force.” The statement ended with the hashtag: #JusticeServed.

Indian military counters attempted strikes on key cities

The Army also released a video showing parts of the operation that unfolded Thursday night. In that incident, Pakistan reportedly tried to strike Indian military bases in cities like Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur using drones and missiles. However, Indian forces quickly intercepted and neutralised the threats.

Loud explosions and sirens were heard across areas including Akhnoor, Samba, Baramulla, and Kupwara. Indian troops immediately launched aerial surveillance and defence operations across the western border. According to the Defence Ministry, Pakistan attempted to attack military posts in 15 cities across the northern and western regions of India, but all efforts were thwarted.

Defence Minister warns of strong future responses

Commenting on the situation, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India has always acted with responsibility and restraint. “India has always played the role of a responsible nation,” he said. “We believe in resolving issues through dialogue. However, if anyone tries to take advantage of this restraint, they will face quality action. We are fully prepared for such responsible responses in the future as well,” he added.
