India has issued a strong warning to Pakistan following multiple ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. The warning comes after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, including 25 Indian citizens.
Tensions Rise Along the Border
According to ANI, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both sides spoke over the hotline on Tuesday, where India conveyed its displeasure over Pakistan’s unprovoked small arms firing across the border.
The Indian Army responded effectively to these violations on the nights of April 26-27 and April 27-28, especially in areas opposite Kupwara, Poonch, Tutmari Gali, and Rampur sectors.
Ceasefire Violations After Terror Strike
The ceasefire violations have surged in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, further worsening the already fragile ties between the two nations. Security forces have ramped up anti-terror operations in the Kashmir Valley to prevent further infiltration and violence.
India’s Tough Measures Against Pakistan
Following the terror strike, India has launched a series of diplomatic and strategic measures:
- Suspension of the Indus Water Treaty
- Closure of the Integrated Check Post at Attari
- Curtailment of Pakistan’s High Commission staff in India
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, met the day after the attack to decide on strong actions to isolate Pakistan internationally.
Military Action on the Cards?
A Pakistani minister reportedly claimed that India may initiate military action within 24 to 36 hours. PM Modi has already given the armed forces complete operational freedom to decide on the timing and scale of India’s response.
