BLA Releases 35 Minute Jaffar Express Hijacking Video | WATCH

Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Jaffar Express hijack video reveals Pakistan’s worsening security crisis. In a gruesome 35-minute clip, the BLA has laid bare how its militants hijacked the Jaffar Express in March 2025, derailed the train, and took more than 450 passengers hostage.

The video, posted by the BLA’s media wing Hakkal, comes with the title “Operation Darra-e-Bolan 2.0.” It is a clear rebuke of Pakistan’s official narrative and presents the BLA as a defiant force against the state.

Detailed Planning and Execution

The video exposes the BLA’s meticulous planning. It features video from inside tactical talks, reconnaissance patrols, and combat training. Commanders describe their plans to deal with hostages, stop army helicopter attacks, and derail the train.

They also describe their backup plans. On camera, a few BLA members discuss their dedication and self-sacrificing actions. They frame their campaign as one of resistance, not terrorism.

What Occurred on March 11 ?

On March 11, 2025, the Jaffar Express departed Quetta for Peshawar. While passing through Tunnel No. 8 in Bolan district of Balochistan, a buried explosive ripped the tracks off. The derailment provided an opportunity for BLA militants to take over the train. They held hostage hundreds of passengers. The Pakistan Army soon began “Operation Green Bolan” to save them.

Following a 30-hour stand-off, 33 militants, 21 hostages, and four troops were killed. The military said they had rescued 354 passengers. The BLA challenged this number and claimed greater casualties than were given.

Political Reaction and Global Alarm

PM Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and was sorry about the victims. Pakistan’s National Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the actions of the BLA. Globally, the video was of concern. China, with significant infrastructure investments in Balochistan, was concerned about the safety of its workers and projects in the province.

Pakistan Railways responded by boosting security on its network. It introduced patrols by drones, stepped up baggage scanning, and installed CCTV monitoring at weak points. The attack has renewed discussion of Balochistan’s ongoing insurgency. Forceful action continues alongside, but experts emphasize that Pakistan needs to respond to long-standing local grievances in order to avoid more bloodshed.
