4.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Pakistan, No Casualties

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday morning at 1:44 a.m., said the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The quake was of a depth of 10 kilometers, with coordinates lying at 29.67°N latitude and 66.10°E longitude, the NCS added.

There have been no reports of injuries or damage to property so far.

This recent seismic activity comes on the heels of another earthquake earlier this week. On Monday, a 4.2 earthquake was recorded in the area that covers Pakistan and Afghanistan. The NCS reported that the previous quake also took place at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, which heightens the risk of aftershocks.
