All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi held a meeting with the attendees of Tablighi Jamaat who have recently recovered from the novel coronavirus. Tablighis were urged to donate plasma to help in the treatment of other patients. Owaisi submitted a list of 39 persons who had come forward to donate their blood.
All the donors attended the meet wherein Owaisi criticised the policies of the Central government. Owaisi further advised the Tablighis to avoid mosques and offer mandatory prayers at home. He fiercely repudiated the rumours holding Tablighis responsible for the spread of the virus in the country.
Questioning the Central government, he asked as to why the lockdown was announced too late, and why it is being lifted too early and that too when the coronavirus cases in India have reached two lakhs.
Owaisi further reproached the Modi-led government with regards to the economic crisis that has spawned throughout the country.
“Why Modi announced the implementation of lockdown within 4 hours and why does he want just 8 days to lift it?” said Owaisi.
He told The Daily Guardian, “This lockdown is illegal and unconstitutional. I am not against lockdown but it’s the prerogative of the state government, not of the Union government. A person sitting in the North Block or South Block of Delhi does not know what is required for Hyderabadis,” he added.
He further accused the Centre of not responding strongly to China. “What is our government doing when China has been occupying our land. More than 5 thousand Chinese foot-soldiers are in our land, I don’t understand why BJP is silent?”
