India’s Covid-19 recoveries crossed the 60-lakh mark, while less than 1,000 coronavirus deaths have been recorded daily for eight consecutive days. A total of 74,383 infections were reported in last 24 hours, taking the country’s caseload to 70,53,807, while the death toll touched 1,08,334, with 918 deaths in a day. There are 8,67,496 active cases of coronavirus in the country, comprising 12.29 per cent of the total caseload.
Worst-affected Maharashtra reported 10,792 new Covid-19 cases, tally rises to 15,28,226 meanwhile death toll goes up by 309 to 40,349 in the state State’s capital Mumbai reported 2199 new Covid-19 cases, 1709 discharges and 42 deaths in last 24 hours. Total cases here rise to 2,29,450, including 1,93,805 dis- charges and 9,430 deaths. Active cases stand at 22,919.
The national capital’s Covid-19 tally rose to 3,09,000 with 2,780 fresh cases, while the death toll climbed to 5,769 as 29 more people succumbed to the disease. The total number of cases in the national capital stands at 3,09,339. This is the 10th day on the trot that the city has reported less than 3,000 new cases.
The death count in Uttar Pradesh rose to 6,394 with 41 more fatalities, while 3,348 fresh cases pushed the infection tally in the state to 4,36,979. The count of active Covid-19 cases in the state stands at 40,019.
The Covid-19 death toll in Haryana rose to 1,579 with seven more fatalities, while 1,065 fresh cases pushed the infection tally in the state to 1,42,155. Of the new fatalities, which came down to single digit after a gap of a few weeks.
Karnataka reported 9,523 new Covid-19 cases and 75 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state stand at 7,00,786 including 5,80,054 discharges and 9,966 deaths. Number of active cases stand at 1,20,270. State’s capital Bengaluru reported 4,623 new positive cases.
Tamil Nadu reported 5,015 new coronavirus cases and 65 deaths in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 6,56,385 and the death toll to 10,252. The tally includes 6,02,038 discharged cases and 44,095 active cases.
Gujarat reported 1181 new Covid-19 cases and 9 deaths in last twenty-four hours. Total cases in the state rise to 151596, including 132310 discharges and 3569 deaths. Active cases stand at 15,717.
West Bengal reported 3,612 new Covid-19 cases, 59 deaths and 3,110 discharges in last 24 hours. Total cases in the state rise to 2,94,806, including 5,622 deaths and 2,58,948 discharges. Active cases stand at 30,236.
Rajasthan reported 2,144 new Covid-19 cases and 14 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total positive cases in the state stand at 1,59,052 including 1,650 deaths, 1,35,990 recoveries and 21,412 active cases.
