Police in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, said on Wednesday that a young man has been detained for the alleged murder of his cousin due to allegations of extramarital affairs and property greed. The 17-year-old victim, Yash, also known as Krish, was identified. On January 1, his body was found beneath the Kankhal Police Station in the Bairagi Camp area. In this regard, a case was opened after the victim’s family filed a complaint. Police learned during the investigation that the victim was strangled to death after being taken shopping by his cousin. “The accused has confessed his crime during the investigation,” stated SSP Pramendra Dobal. It was him who initially noticed the body. During questioning, he claimed to have removed the victim.
