Yellow Slice Founder Shares Vision for Tech-Driven, Human-Centered Design Future

Founded in 2008, Yellow Slice started as a boutique UI/UX studio with a bold vision: to merge aesthetic clarity with user functionality. Over the years, it has evolved into a leading human-centered design agency, working across industries—from fintech and healthcare to lifestyle and e-commerce. Known for its nature-inspired approach and collaborative ethos, Yellow Slice today is synonymous with thoughtful, intuitive, and future-ready design.

In an exclusive interaction with TDG Network, Kishor Fogla, Founder of Yellow Slice, opened up about the company’s design philosophy, tech integrations, and global aspirations.

  1. Your culture emphasizes “collectively solving problems.” Can you walk us through a real-life challenge that the team overcame together, and how collaboration played a key role?

Ans. At Yellow Slice, we faced a significant challenge when redesigning the user interface for a large-scale e-commerce platform. The client needed a design overhaul that improved user engagement without compromising existing workflows. The solution required inputs from various disciplines—UX research, visual design, and development. Our team collaborated through multiple brainstorming sessions, leveraging the expertise of each member. By collectively identifying pain points through user feedback and aligning them with the client’s business goals, we successfully delivered a seamless and visually engaging platform. This experience reinforced our belief in the power of collective problem-solving.

  1. YS Experimental Ventures sound like a playground for creativity. How do these internal experiments translate into client-facing innovation or product improvements?

Ans. YS Experimental Ventures allows us to test unconventional ideas, tools, and workflows without the constraints of project timelines. For example, we recently experimented with generative AI to create adaptive UI components. This innovation not only enhanced our internal design efficiency but also informed the creation of customizable design systems for our clients. By nurturing creativity internally, we can offer cutting-edge, future-ready solutions that directly benefit client projects.

  1. With the growing relevance of AI and machine learning, how is Yellow Slice adapting its UI/UX practices to align with emerging tech trends?

Ans. We see AI and machine learning as enablers for more personalized and intelligent design solutions. At Yellow Slice, we are integrating AI-driven analytics to understand user behavior more deeply, enabling predictive and adaptive UI designs. Additionally, we focus on designing intuitive interfaces for AI-powered applications, ensuring that the complexity of the technology is balanced with a human-centric experience. This alignment with tech trends positions us to stay ahead in delivering innovative and relevant designs.

  1. How do you approach UX research differently when designing for diverse industries or audiences—say, a fintech dashboard versus a lifestyle mobile app?

Ans. Our approach to UX research is tailored to the industry and audience. For a fintech dashboard, the focus is on precision, security, and data visualization. We prioritize trust-building through clear and accessible interfaces. In contrast, for a lifestyle mobile app, we emphasize aesthetics, emotional engagement, and seamless interactions. In both cases, we start with an in-depth understanding of user personas, contextual needs, and industry-specific challenges to craft bespoke, effective designs.

  1. What’s your vision for Yellow Slice in the next 3–5 years, especially in terms of design leadership, new service offerings, or global presence?

Ans. Over the next 3–5 years, Yellow Slice aims to solidify its position as a leader in human-centered design by integrating advanced technologies such as AR/VR and AI into our offerings. We plan to expand globally, forming strategic partnerships and entering new markets while staying true to our core philosophy of blending creativity with nature’s harmony. Additionally, we envision launching specialized service verticals to cater to industries like healthcare, education, and sustainability, ensuring our designs make a meaningful impact.
