Yashwant Sinha all set to announce his Third Front

Former Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha is likely to announce the formation of a Third Front on Saturday. Sources indicate that Sinha held a series of meetings in Patna, and apparently, “even leaders like Tejashwi Yadav attended” them.

Sources also indicate that smaller political parties like Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) are on board in the initiative being taken by Sinha. The outcome of the meeting with Tejashwi Yadav is not yet known, but it is said that several top leaders of the state who are averse to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) are in touch with Sinha.

Talking to The Daily Guardian, Yashwant Sinha did not disclose any details and said, “I would be in a position to answer all your questions on Saturday at the press conference. I can’t divulge anything at this stage.” He has announced a press conference in Patna on Saturday.

It’s learned that leaders like former MP Devender Yadav, former MLA Nagmani, and former Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary are already on board. They are providing all kinds of support to Yashwant Sinha to cobble up a Third Front. Those close to Sinha are indicating that the veteran leader is trying to bring on one platform various leaders to provide “an alternative to the people which Mahagathbandhan being in disarray is not able to”.

Moreover, It’s further expected that some parties from within Mahagthbandhan may also switch sides and join hands with Sinha and the reason cited is that “he is more acceptable and veteran politician with far more experience than Tejashwi Yadav”.

Reacting sharply to the attempt of Sinha to cobble a Third Front, state minister Neeraj Kumar said, “He is a political migrant from Bihar and more or less like a spent cartridge. He should come out and say which political parties are with him. This is an exercise in futility.”
