World leaders who extend “best wishes” to India on Republic Day

On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day, many world leaders extended their best wishes to India on Republic Day including Nepal’s Prime Minister, Maldivian Foreign Minister, Australian Foreign Minister, Israeli diplomats, and Brunie’s Sultan.

Taking to Twitter Israel’s Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon extends greetings and said, “Based on the history of our two ancient civilizations, India and Israel share a great strategic partnership. The love and respect between our people go beyond diplomacy. Israel wishes all Indians a very happy Republic Day,” Gilon said in a video released by the Embassy of Israel in India on its official Twitter handle @IsraelinIndia.”

Israel’s Deputy Chief of Mission Ohad Nakash Kaynar wished India.

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal extended best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day of India, I extend warm felicitations and best wishes to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the government and friendly people of India.”

Former PM of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba extended greetings to the people of India.

On the occasion of India’s Republic Day Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong extended greetings and said, “Australia and India share a deep friendship – dosti. Today on Republic Day, I extend my best wishes to my good friend @DrSJaishankar and to the people of India and all who celebrate around the world today.”

Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on Thursday also wished the people of India and said, ‘I am very pleased to send my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and to the Government and people of the Republic of India on your Republic Day.”

As India celebrates its 74th Republic Day, Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid also extended a greeting.

Taking to Twitter Maldivian Foreign Minister Shahid said, “The success of the Indian Constitution is an inspiration for nations. And the Indian democracy has not only survived but is thriving. Our warmest felicitations to the Gov & people of #India on the 74th Republic Day. Wishing India peace, progress & prosperity.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings to the nation and tweeted, “Many wishes for Republic Day. This time the occasion is more special because we are celebrating it during the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. I wish we move ahead unitedly to make the dreams of the great freedom fighters of the country come true. Happy Republic Day to all fellow Indians!”

Delhi witnessed a spectacular presentation of discipline and grit as Army contingents and other personnel marched and concluded with a spectacular airshow and motorcycle display.

Earlier in the morning President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag at Kartavya Path followed by the national anthem.

Moreover, 23 tableaux were shown and concluded with a spectacular airshow and motorcycle display.

However, on the occasion, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was the Chief Guest, who arrived on Tuesday.

Furthermore, till 30 January the celebration will be continued which is observed as Martyrs’ Day.
