A woman in Rajasthan was shot by three persons for marrying a man outside her religion in Laxmi Nagar, Jaipur.
Meanwhile, three men allegedly shot the woman for marrying a man from a different faith on Wednesday.
After the incident police arrested the accused within a few hours. One accused is absconding and a search operation has been launched by the police to arrest him.
Moreover, the woman who has been shot has been identified as Anjali Verma and was shot by her brother-in-law Abdul Aziz.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Jaipur Commissionerate) Vandita Rana said, “A case has been registered against brother-in-law Abdul Aziz and his friends on the statement of the injured girl, Anjali Verma, wife of Abdul Latif. The girl’s brother-in-law Aziz, his friends Mohammad Raja and Raju, and the shooter Kalim, a resident of Bihar, have been arrested by Jaipur police late on Wednesday night.”
However, from the accused police recovered a pistol.
“Kalim had shot Anjali with this pistol. At the same time, the search for another accused Abid is going on,” DCP Vandita Rana said.
