A tragic incident occurred at the Qutub Minar metro station on Monday, resulting in the death of a woman who reportedly jumped in front of a moving train. This unfortunate event led to disruptions in train services along the Yellow Line.
According to a CISF official, at approximately 3:40 pm, a female passenger, identified as a resident of Rajpur Khurd in Chhatarpur, allegedly attempted suicide. The official stated, “At 4 pm, she was taken out of the metro track and was in an unconscious condition. Delhi Metro Rail Police, Ghitorni, promptly arrived at the scene, and the woman was transported to AIIMS Trauma Centre.”
Tragically, she was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital, as confirmed by the police. Authorities are currently reviewing the CCTV footage of the incident to establish the sequence of events.
The aftermath of the incident resulted in a disruption of metro services for approximately 15 minutes. A commuter named Mahima shared her inconvenience, mentioning that metro trains operated at restricted speeds. She recounted, “It took more than half an hour to reach Chhatarpur from Huda City Centre.”
