Wimbledon connects with Bengal

In early July, a statue of Sister Nivedita will be installed in Wimbledon, south-west London, by the city mayor. Ramakrishna Mission of West Bengal has sent a six-foot-and-two-inch-tall statue of Sister. The statue of Sister is being installed to commemorate Sister’s arrival from Kolkata with Swami Vivekananda in July 1899. Though Swamijee met Sister when she was Margaret Elizabeth Noble in 1898, Swami Vivekananda gave her the name Sister Nivedita. Ramakrishna Mission was insisting the face of the statue should be directed towards the south-east because Kolkata is situated in the direction of the south-east of London. In this way, they wanted to connect London with Kolkata. Sister used to live on High Street in London.

Differences cropped up within BSP
BSP Supremo Mayawati keeps her distance from the opposition parties. She never joined any meetings of the opposition parties. This has not gone well within her parliamentary party, especially in the Loksabha party. Recently, Mayawati instructed her MPs to join the inauguration ceremony of the newly built Parliament building. The leader of the BSP Loksabha party, Kunwar Danish Ali, is not happy with the party’s decision. Though he attended the ceremony, he was of the opinion that the President of India should have opened the Parliament building. He has tweeted in a manner expressing his displeasure. He also feels that the time has come for the BSP to join the opposition ranks. Otherwise, the party will be wiped out in the next general election.

PM asks to tweet about new parliament building
After the inauguration of the new Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the ministers and followers to tweet about the new Parliament building with a voice message. Some of the ministers did tweet, but without the voice message. They were wondering what to mention in the message. The Urban Development Minister, Hardeep Sing Puri, who was in charge of supervising the construction of the building, tweeted a voice message. In the message, he said, ‘Avranglingho in Amritkaal’. Many ministers were asking about the meaning of the message. Some of them consulted dictionaries to find the meaning. But as they could not find the exact meaning, they could not retweet the message.
