WhatsApp continues to innovate, rolling out updates that enhance the user experience across devices. Recently, the popular messaging app introduced several improvements to its calling features. Now, according to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on an exciting new feature that allows users to choose a language for voice message transcripts.
This upcoming feature will enable users to transcribe voice notes directly within the app, offering greater accessibility and convenience, particularly for those who prefer reading text over listening to audio messages. Users will be able to select from languages such as English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi, with the possibility of more languages being added in the future. Once a language is chosen, a corresponding language package will be downloaded to facilitate accurate transcription.
“The feature will ensure that users can read and understand voice notes in their preferred language. Additionally, it will improve the accuracy of transcriptions by using language-specific speech recognition. Users will also have the flexibility to choose a different language for specific voice notes as needed,” the report states.
Beyond this, WhatsApp is introducing three significant updates across its platforms for iPhones, Android, web, and PCs, aimed at enhancing the calling experience:
These updates reflect WhatsApp’s commitment to enhancing user experience and making its platform more versatile and user-friendly. As the app continues to evolve, users can look forward to even more innovative features that cater to their communication needs.
