An accused veteran gun supplier was detained by the Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal at the Dum Dum Cantonment train station.
The man detained on Monday evening has been identified by the STF police as 55-year-old Tapan Saha, a resident of Habra Manasabari in West Bengal. An official statement claimed that they also seized two makeshift “one shotter” weapons and two 7mm semi-automatic pistols from the custody of this alleged veteran arms supplier.
Additionally, it stated that Saha had a case filed against him at the Dum Dum Government Railway Police Station.
More information is awaited. On October 19, the Kolkata STF detained two individuals and seized a number of sim boxes, sim cards, and other devices from their hands for allegedly operating an illegal telecommunications business in the West Bengal neighbourhood of Tiljala Shibtala.
