Voter list scam: 359 non-existent voters in Kishanpole Assembly

The Election Commission was made aware of the possible scams in the voter list of the Kishanpole assembly constituency. After receiving this information, the Election Commission investigated the matter. After investigation, it was revealed that 359 voters, with the same address, did not exist. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta has ordered for further investigation into this matter.

In the voter list scam, it was also found that house number 7358 is registered on about 185 voter ID cards. Hameed Nagar, near MI Road, is known as number 7358. There are 300 houses in the colony, after taking the lease they now have different house numbers, but the voter ID has not been changed yet.

On Thursday, Councilor Kusum Yadav provided 300 pages of documents to Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta and Collector Prakash Rajpurohit and demanded the removal of fake voters from the voter list. According to Yadav’s memorandum, names of 12504 fake voters are linked in the Kishanpole Assembly. District BJP President Raghav Sharma and former MLA Mohan Lal Gupta have submitted a memorandum to Collector Prakash Rajpurohit demanding the removal of names of fake voters from the electoral rolls in the Kishanpole Assembly constituency.

The voters whose names are there in the Kishanpole Assembly are not considered to be from this state. According to the sources, the voters from other states who used to live in this building have become voters here. To monitor this, the Returning Officer of Kishanpole, SDM Dr. Rakesh Meena, reached the spot with the team on Thursday.

When the names of the voters were inquired by the building owner Salim, it came to light that out of 359 voters, not a single one lives there. Salim said that people from outside states come for a few days on rent in 42 rooms of a four-storey building and return after doing catering work. In such a situation, how their names got added to the voter lists should be investigated.
