The construction of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) aims to enable seamless transportation between the two cities.

The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) was introduced in the nation last October when Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the RapidX train that connected Sahibabad to Duhai Depot and opened the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor at Sahibabad RapidX Station in Uttar Pradesh.

The National Capital Region (NCR) will be connected by the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), a high-speed, high-frequency rail-based regional commuter transit system.

By providing better access, addressing issues of social and economic exclusion, and encouraging balanced and sustainable economic development in the National Capital Region, it seeks to empower citizens.
