Union Minister Flags Off Women’s Mountain Ski Event at Khelo India Winter Games

Amidst the snow-clad peaks of Gulmarg, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs & Sports, Nisith Pramanik, marked a momentous occasion today as he flagged off the women’s mountain ski event at Kongdoori Phase 1 during the ongoing 4th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games.

Commencing the event with enthusiasm, the Union Minister lauded the talent and fervor of the participating female skiers, encouraging them to pursue their passion for winter sports with dedication and determination.

Interacting with players and officials alike, Minister Pramanik expressed his satisfaction over the seamless organization of this national event. He commended the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and the J&K Sports Council for their contributions towards making the Winter Games a resounding success.

Highlighting the significance of the Khelo India Winter Games, Minister Pramanik emphasized Gulmarg’s potential as the premier destination for winter sports in the country. He envisioned the next edition of the event to be even grander, adhering to international standards of excellence. The Minister extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for their unwavering support in developing sports infrastructure in J&K and fostering a culture of winter sports among the youth.

Beyond being a mere sports event, Minister Pramanik characterized the Khelo India Winter Games as a celebration of Gulmarg’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. He lauded the event for its role in enhancing tourism and bolstering the regional economy, attracting visitors from across the nation and beyond. Reflecting on J&K’s journey towards prosperity and peace, Minister Pramanik credited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for steering the region into a new era of growth and development.Expressing hope for the Winter Games to inspire more youngsters to embrace winter sports and excel in them, Minister Pramanik reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing essential facilities and support to aspiring athletes, ultimately propelling India to the forefront of global winter sports excellence.
