Udhav appeals EC order freezing Sena name, symbol in Delhi High Court

Shiv Sena, a group led by Uddhav Thackeray, filed a petition with the Delhi High Court on Monday asking for the revocation of an ECI judgement that had frozen the party’s name and electoral symbol.

According to a PTI report, Thackeray’s plea, which challenged the EC’s October 8 order, claimed that it had been made in blatant disregard of natural justice principles and without giving the parties a chance to be heard.

Eknathrao Sambhaji Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, and the election commission have been added as parties to the petition.
