Uddhav reshapes Shiv Sena (UBT) national executive council with 6 new members

In preparation for the pivotal 2024 Lok Sabha Election, Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), has undertaken a significant restructuring of the party organization. Since the Shiv Sena split, Thackeray has been diligently working on revitalizing the party. In his latest move, he has introduced a new national executive for Shiv Sena (UBT). Six trusted leaders have been appointed to the position of ‘Shiv Sena leader,’ the second most important role within the party, following the party chief.
The six appointed leaders are as follows
Members of Parliament:
Vinayak Raut
Anil Desai
Rajan Vichare
Members of the Legislative Assembly
4. Anil Parab
5. Sunil Prabhu
6. Ravindra Vaykar
With these additions, the Shiv Sena (UBT) national executive now comprises a total of 16 leaders, including 10 deputy leaders, 3 secretaries, and 3 organization ministers.
Additionally, two youth leaders, Varun Sardesai and Sainath Durge, who are considered close to Aditya Thackeray, have secured a place within the new executive.
Amidst these developments, the delay in resolving the disqualification petitions against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Shiv Sena MLAs loyal to him has come under intense scrutiny by the Supreme Court. The court criticized the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, insisting that the proceedings cannot be a mere charade, and orders must not be undermined.
A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, alongside Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, has instructed Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing Speaker Rahul Narwekar, to provide a timeline for deciding the petitions by the following day. The court has indicated that it may issue a “peremptory order” if it remains unsatisfied with the response.
