Twitter users roast Aamir Khan for meeting Turkish First Lady

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is on the line of fire on social media after he met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s wife Emine Erdogan. The actor is in Turkey for the shooting of Laal Singh Chaddha,

People are happy about the meeting because of Turkey’s increasing anti-India and pro-Pakistan stand. According to the report, besides criticising India over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Turkish government had reportedly pumped in funds to prolong the protests. Erdogan has also come out openly in support of Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir. Aamir resumed the shooting of his upcoming film in Turkey, where he met Emine Erdogan, who described Aamir as “the world-renowned Indian actor” and wrote that she’s “looking forward” to watching his film.

Emine Erdogan tweeted: “I had the great pleasure of meeting Aamir Khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. I was happy to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie Laal Singh Chaddha in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it!” Earlier this month, when Aamir Khan arrived in Istanbul on 10 August, he was mobbed by the fans. Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha is the second film — after Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom — to shoot at an international location since film productions were stopped because of the Covid-19 lockdown. Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump and it also features Kareena Kapoor. The film is directed by Advait Chandan (Secret Superstar) and it is slated for Christmas 2021 release.
