Two persons were rescued from the wreckage of a truck that had crashed into a deep gorge close to Gauchar in the Chamoli district of the state on Monday by Disaster Response personnel, according to police. When the truck’s driver lost control and it overturned into the gorge, the incident happened close to Dat Pulia. Two individuals were successfully rescued from the debris by a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team that promptly raced to the site after learning of the incident.
The duo identified as Chandra Mohan Chandra Mohan and Sunil Rana were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment of their injuries.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
