According to party MP Sushmita Dev, a five-member Trinamool Congress delegation would visit violence-torn Manipur on Wednesday.
Sushmita Dev, TMC MP, stated in a video message on her official Twitter handle that the delegation will meet victims over the next two days and provide all required aid to restore peace in the state.
“A delegation of 5 members of the Trinamool Congress MP’s will visit Manipur today and tomorrow to meet the victims of the violence. We will try to meet everyone and provide all necessary aid to bring back peace in the state,” Sushmita Dev, TMC leader.
She further claimed that the CM Mamata Banerjee had written to Home Ministry about visiting the state, however “received no acknowledgement from the ministry”.
In addition to Dev, Derk O’Brien, Kalyan Banerjee, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, and Dola Sen will travel to Manipur.
Meanwhile, a five-member Bharatiya Janata Party fact-finding delegation toured poll-related violent locations across the State that erupted during the July 8 Panchayat polls.
For nearly two months, Manipur has seen deadly conflicts, particularly between the Kuki and Meitei communities. Opposition parties have accused the administration of failing to keep the violence under control.
