The formation of the NDA government and the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to take place on June 8.
Despite the Lok Sabha election outcome, which did not give the BJP a clear majority, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained undeterred in his speech on Tuesday evening at the party headquarters. He proclaimed that after sixty years, the current government has secured a third consecutive term and promised that the coalition will work with increased determination over the next five years to elevate the nation to greater heights.
Expressing his gratitude to BJP and NDA workers as well as the “140 crore people” of the country, the PM said the result is a vindication of the ‘sabka vikas’ mantra of his government. “I would like the influencers and opinion makers to note that since 1962 this is the first time that a government has come to power for a third consecutive term.” He also highlighted that BJP is set to form government in Odisha for the first time and the party has opened its account in Kerala.
After 1962 this is the first time that a govt is coming back for third term.
