The district has witnessed a record-breaking five-year Dengue outbreak. In November, there were 154 reported cases, accounting for 28.78 percent of this year’s total cases. The first 10 days saw 46 cases, the following 10 days had 51, and the last 10 days peaked at 57. As of Friday, the total Dengue count stands at 535.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Anu Sharma shared that health teams inspected larvae in 4,835 homes on Friday. They found larvae in 22 homes, prompting notices to 15 homeowners. From 145 suspicious samples, six individuals tested positive for Dengue. The district’s total Dengue cases now number 535. Health teams have checked 722,860 homes, finding larvae in 7,046 and issuing notices to 3,846 homeowners. The district reported one Dengue-related death. The cases include 11 patients aged 0 to 5 years, 73 aged 6 to 15 years, 326 aged 16 to 45 years, and 114 aged 45 and above by November 28.
