Flash demonstrations broke out on Monday at the Jnana Bharathi campus of Bengaluru University after a post-graduate student suffered several injuries.
The MSc student was boarding a bus in the morning when she slipped and sustained injuries, according to eye-witnesses.
She was taken urgently to a private hospital, where she is getting medical treatment. Following the collision, the bus was left behind as the driver and conductor fled the spot. Following the incident, students held a protest and shut both of Jnana Bharathi’s gates in an effort to stop the use of public transportation on campus. Additionally, the students chanted anti-Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation phrases.
