He mentioned that the government is actively supporting farmers in various ways to discourage the burning of stubble, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to address environmental concerns.
Khattar expressed gratitude to the farmers for responding positively to the appeal to refrain from planting paddy and subsequently reducing the acreage dedicated to paddy cultivation by nearly one lakh acres. He acknowledged the positive impact of this decision on mitigating air pollution caused by stubble burning.
In response to statements from Delhi’s Chief Minister, Khattar urged against politicizing the matter and emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to tackle pollution. He advised the Punjab government to adopt Haryana’s strategies to effectively deal with the challenges associated with stubble burning.
The Chief Minister appreciated the Supreme Court’s remarks on the issue, especially those advising the Punjab government to learn from Haryana’s initiatives. Khattar expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Court and reiterated the importance of avoiding political rhetoric in finding practical solutions to regional environmental problems.
In conclusion, Khattar underscored the significance of cooperative efforts, highlighting that the positive practices implemented in Haryana could serve as a model for other states, including Punjab, in combating the issue of stubble burning and curbing air pollution.
