Start-up CEO chokes 4-year-old son in Goa, attempts suicide

A startling twist has unfolded in the tragic case of a mother accused of killing her small child and concealing the body in a suitcase. Suchana Seth, founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based start-up The Mindful AI Lab Company, is now under suspicion for suffocating her own son in a Goa hotel. The suspicion arose due to swollen nerves found in the child’s neck, indicating possible foul play. The incident reportedly took place on January 6 in a North Goa hotel where Suchana Seth was staying.

The victim, a 4-year-old boy, was the centre of a dispute between Suchana Seth and her estranged husband, Techi Venkataraman from Tamil Nadu. The couple had been undergoing a divorce, and the court had granted visitation rights to the father every Sunday. Sources suggest that the ongoing discord between the couple may have led to the tragic incident.

Police sources indicate that Suchana Seth, possibly distressed by the court’s decision, took the extreme step of killing her son during their stay in Goa. The child’s body, showing signs of strangulation, was discovered, and Suchana Seth was arrested by Chitradurga police.

In a disturbing turn of events, Suchana Seth attempted suicide by cutting her own hand after allegedly killing her son. Dr. Kumar Naik, who visited the mortuary, emphasized the need for cooperation with Goa Police during the post-mortem examination to uncover further details.

The murder unfolded as Suchana Seth travelled from Goa to Chitradurga, leaving the child’s body in a rented car. The discovery of bloodstains in the serviced apartment triggered an alert from the staff, leading to a police investigation. CCTV footage revealed that Suchana Seth left the apartment without her son. Upon interrogation, she initially claimed her son was at a friend’s house, but the information proved to be false.

Currently in police custody in Aimangala, Chitradurga, Suchana Seth awaits the arrival of Goa Police for further investigation. The motive behind the shocking act remains unknown, and the interrogation is expected to shed light on the tragic circumstances leading to the murder of the 4-year-old boy.
