In anticipation of New Year celebrations, the police have implemented special measures, including the deployment of dedicated blockade and patrolling teams on December 29, 30, and 31, 2023. Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg, Senior Police Captain, shared that these teams are strategically positioned in crowded areas and markets to ensure public safety during the festive period.
A substantial number of police forces, including traffic police and station officers, have been mobilized for this purpose. The primary goal of these blockades is to maintain a peaceful atmosphere throughout the New Year celebrations and effectively control any miscreants or potential disturbances. Special arrangements, such as videography, alcohol meters, and e-challan machines, have been put in place at checkpoints.
Drunk driving and disorderly conduct will be dealt with firmly to prevent any disruptions to the city residents’ peaceful celebrations. Additionally, considering the foggy weather conditions, police personnel will don reflector jackets during patrolling to mitigate the risk of untoward incidents.
The public is urged to adhere to traffic rules during the auspicious occasion of New Year, cooperate with law enforcement, and contribute to maintaining order for a peaceful celebration.
