Sony India has introduced a time-limited “Summer Sale” promotion on the recently launched PlayStation 5 Slim consoles (CFI-2008A01 and CFI-2008B01). During the sale period, which runs from May 1 to May 14, 2024, or while supplies last, customers can avail the PS5 Slim models at a reduced price of Rs 49,990. This offer is applicable to the Standard Disc Edition of the PS5 Slim, which typically retails for Rs 54,990.
The PS5 Slim Digital Edition will maintain its original retail price of Rs 44,990.
The discounted pricing will be accessible through a range of online and offline retailers, encompassing Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Reliance, Sony Center, Vijay Sales, and other participating outlets.
In a recent development, PlayStation collaborated with Blinkit to facilitate deliveries of the PS5 Slim consoles within 10 minutes in designated cities. Customers can also take advantage of the discounted rate through Blinkit.
While featuring identical hardware as the standard PS5, the ‘Slim’ variants showcase a 30% decrease in overall volume and weigh up to 24% less. Furthermore, they are equipped with a generous 1TB of internal storage, a notable enhancement compared to the 825GB offered in the existing models.
In terms of aesthetics, the new models showcase a refined design with four distinct cover panels, featuring a glossy top section and a matte bottom. Additionally, they incorporate dual USB-C ports at the front, replacing the single USB-C and USB-A ports present on the current PS5.
The digital edition offers users the option to convert to a disc-compatible version by adding an optional disc drive accessory. Moreover, the internal storage can be expanded using external SSDs, offering users abundant space for their gaming collections.
