Soldiers march to drumbeats during dress rehearsals in chilly weather for 75th Republic Day parade

Despite facing the harsh cold and early-morning fog, the armed forces demonstrated their preparedness during dress rehearsals for the 75th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital on Saturday. Undeterred by the chilly weather, with the city recording a minimum temperature of 13°C, the soldiers showcased disciplined and synchronized marching.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally invited French President Emmanuel Macron to be the Chief Guest at the 75th Republic Day function, emphasizing the celebration of the India-France strategic partnership and shared democratic values. In a tweet from his official handle, PM Modi stated, “My Dear Friend President Emmanuel Macron, we eagerly look forward to receiving you as the Chief Guest at the 75th Republic Day. Bientot!”

In preparation for Republic Day, the Delhi Police has been conducting mock drills to ensure security. This week, personnel from the East District conducted a mock security drill at V3S Mall Nirman Vihar in east Delhi, covering aspects of security preparedness for both New Year celebrations and Republic Day. The drill involved teams from various departments, including the Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Traffic Police, Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, Cats Ambulance, and SWAT Commandos.
