The Shri Vishwakarma Skill University on Sunday signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), to promote gradation programme in Retail Sales Skilling through its Earn & Learn Model.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Haryana’s Minister for Skill Development Mool Chand Sharma.
According to the MoU, students will undergo practical on the Job training at the designated dealerships of Maruti, where they will learn the application based intricacies of Retail Management in live environment.
Mool Chand Sharma said, “This is a unique programme where students will be imparted theory education by the faculty of University and the Experts from Maruti.”
Raj Nehru, Vice-Chancellor of SVSU, said, “This will create a huge opportunity for the youths of Haryana especially with SVSU Affiliated colleges across the state and large Maruti Dealer Network available in the state,” adding that retail sales is a growing segment with a CAGR of 11% and will bridge the gap of skilled resources for the automaker in the state.
The syllabus and course content for this programme has been jointly developed by SVSU and MSIL. Under the programme, students will be paid stipend during their on the job training.
