An annual ceremony called the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) recognizes achievements in the South Indian film industry. Recent events marked the 11th anniversary of SIIMA.
The second day of the event honored the Tamil and Malayalam film industries after the first day honored outstanding achievements in the Telugu and Kannada film industries. Rocketry – The Nambi Effect, which he directed for the first time, earned R. Madhavan the distinction of Best Debutant Director (Tamil) for the year. In addition, he received recognition for his work in the movie with the Best Actor award. Mani Ratnam, a well-known filmmaker, received an Extraordinary Achievement Award at the occasion, and PS-1 won the most awards overall.
In Malayalam film, Basil Joseph received a Special Jury Appreciation Award for Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, and Vineeth Sreenivasan won Best Director for Hridayam, Best Film, and Nna Thaan Case Kodu.
