Shraddha Murder case: Aftab blazed marijuana before killing says Police sources

Aftab Amin Poonawalla, the recently detained suspect in the horrifying Shraddha Walker murder case, reportedly admitted to using marijuana on the day of the murder, according to police sources.

According to Delhi police sources, the accused admitted to the police that he and Shraddha argued on May 18 about managing household costs and bringing some items from Mumbai to Delhi. According to the police, Aftab left his house after the argument, smoked a marijuana cigarette, and then came back.

“When he came back, Shraddha started yelling at him again. Following which, he got furious and strangled her so violently that she stopped breathing,” the police sources said.

“The victim was strangled to death between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., and the accused, Aftab, sat next to her body the whole night and smoked marijuana,” they said.

According to reports, the accused has admitted to having a marijuana addiction and said he dumped some body parts in Dehradun as well.

However, the official stated that the police are looking into the issue from all angles and suggested that the accused may have released this information to trick the authorities.

The accused’s cutting tool has not yet been discovered by the police. According to the sources, the items that were recovered from the house have been sent for forensic analysis.

On Thursday, after five days of custody, the accused, Aftab Amin Poonawala, was brought before a Delhi court via video conference.
