Rival factions of Shiv Sena have filed a petition in Supreme Court regarding the political crises erupting in Maharashtra seeking early hearing in the matter. However the apex court fixed January 13, 2023, to hear the batch of petitions connected to the ‘Maharashtra Political Crisis’.
Earlier, a bench comprising three judges of the Supreme Court ruled out that a larger constitutional bench be required to deal with certain issues related to Maharashtra’s political crisis. It also asked Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar not to take any action on the fresh disqualification notices issued against Shiv Sena members. Various petitions filed by both the factions of Shiv Sena are pending before the apex court.
