Security heightened in J&K ahead of PM Modi’s visit

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anticipated visit to Jammu next week, security measures have been significantly intensified across Jammu and Kashmir to ensure a seamless and secure environment for the visit.

Sources within security agencies have reported that stringent arrangements have been put in place to preempt any untoward incidents in the lead-up to the Prime Minister’s arrival on February 20.

Enhanced vigilance measures have been implemented along the borders and Line of Control (LoC), with security forces intensifying patrols along highways and other vulnerable areas. Notably, security personnel are conducting thorough frisking of individuals entering towns across Jammu Kashmir, heightening security protocols to identify and mitigate potential threats.

Additionally, naka checking operations have been ramped up, targeting vehicles and motorcycles found without proper number plates, further bolstering security measures across the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu on February 20 holds significant importance as he is slated to inaugurate several key projects aimed at advancing the region’s development. These projects include the inauguration of AIIMS Jammu, the world’s highest railway bridge spanning the Chenab River, and North India’s pioneering river rejuvenation project—the Devika River Project—in Udhampur.

As preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit continue, security agencies remain on high alert, ensuring robust security arrangements to safeguard the visit and facilitate the successful inauguration of these crucial infrastructure projects.
