In a significant operation on Sunday, security forces discovered and safely destroyed explosives hidden underground in plum orchards in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Kakapora, renowned for its anti-militancy operations, along with personnel from the 183 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), conducted a search in the orchards of Nihama village. The joint team swiftly located the explosives and took immediate action to neutralize the threat, ensuring the safety of the local populace.
The operation underscores the continued vigilance and dedication of security forces in their ongoing efforts to thwart potential threats and maintain peace in the region. The timely intervention prevented what could have been a major security incident.
Further details regarding the type and quantity of explosives have not been disclosed, and the area remains under close surveillance as a precautionary measure.
