BJP’s former state president Satish Poonia accused Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of failing to maintain law and order in Rajasthan. He alleged that there is a complete breakdown of law and order in the state, with incidents of public humiliation of women and daughters, scams involving unemployed youth and recruitment paper leaks becoming common.
He also mentioned that the BJP has launched the “Parivartan Sankalp Yatras” in response to these issues, and the enthusiasm seen during this journey indicates a strong push for a change in power. During the second day of the Parivartan Sankalp Yatras, Satish Poonia arrived in Alwar, where he made accusations against the state government. He also praised former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje openly. When asked about the diminishing importance of Vasundhara Raje, Poonia responded by saying that neither the importance nor the respect of a leader diminishes. He mentioned that Vasundhara Raje has played a significant role in the party’s history.
Poonia further explained that there is a difference between the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra of 2003 and 2023. He noted that Vasundhara Raje had glamour and attraction at that time, and when a leader leads, it has an impact. However, he clarified that this does not mean that the Seat-Fill Phenomenon exists. Regarding the absence of Vasundhara Raje from the yatra in the last 10 days, Poonia stated that he currently doesn’t have information on it.
He also commented that everything has its time. He said, “In the past, the Congress’s calf used to be favoured by people, and today, the lotus flower is liked.” He pointed out at the crowd and said, “It is a people’s crowd, which is coming on its own. The size of the crowd is not the standard for every situation.” During the press conference, Satish Poonia was joined by various BJP leaders, including former Union Minister CR Chaudhary and BJP’s district president Ashok Gupta.
