Prabhas-starrer “Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1” continues its impressive run at the box office, crossing Rs 2.25 crore on its 18th day of release across all languages. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, has now accumulated a total of Rs 395.50 crore domestically since its release on December 22.
Set in the fictional city-state of Khansaar, Salaar narrates the intense story of erstwhile friends turned foes. Prabhas, essaying the role of Deva, leads the film, complemented by standout performances from Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vardharaja Mannaar (Vardha) and Shruti Haasan as Aadhya. Going head-to-head with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki,” released a day earlier, Salaar proves to be a robust competitor. Notably, “Dunki” has amassed Rs 218.17 crore at the box office.
Addressing the box office clash before the release of “Salaar” and “Dunki,” Prithviraj Sukumaran expressed excitement, stating, “It’s a holiday season, and we are all film lovers; we’re getting to see a Rajkumar Hirani-Shah Rukh Khan’s film and a Prashanth Neel-Prabhas film; we all should be celebrating.”
The success of “Salaar” was commemorated with a celebratory event hosted by the film’s makers on Monday. Joyous moments from the party, featuring director Prashanth Neel, Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and other cast members, were shared on social media by Hombale Films, the film’s production house, and the official Salaar page. The caption emphasized the blockbuster success deserving a “BLOCKBUSTER CELEBRATION.”
Released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam to reach a diverse audience, “Salaar” continues to attract viewers, maintaining its strong momentum at the box office.
