Part 1 of The Prabhas starrer Salaar With a box office debut that broke records, Ceasefire created history. Director Prashanth Neel’s film saw a decline of more than 60% on the second day of its release, despite earning Rs 90 crore on the first day of its release. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that Salaar made an estimated Rs 55 crore in revenue on Saturday. At present, the movie has earned a total of Rs 145.70 crores in India.
The action-thriller outperformed Jawan and Pathan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Leo, starring Vijay, and Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, to earn the largest opening for an Indian movie this year. Salaar’s opening day worldwide gross of Rs 179 crore was also substantially more than the global total of Rs 140 crore earned by Prabhas’s notorious flop, Adipurush, on its first day. Jawan and Animal reported openings of Rs 75 crore and Rs 63 crore, respectively, while Pathaan earned Rs 57 crore on its first day of release in India.
