In the upcoming assembly elections, the Election Department is providing every facility to the common people to increase the voting percentage and exercise their franchise.
Along with this, election-related arrangements are also being simplified. For this, the Election Commission of India is using new technology to make the election process smooth and effective. On Monday, Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan Praveen Gupta virtually launched the “Sahaj Bhilwara” app.
Through this app, supervision of the voting process will be facilitated along with increasing the participation of the elderly above 80 years of age and more than 40 per cent of disabled category voters, by enabling them to vote from home.
Gupta said during the app launch that the Election Commission of India has tried to provide special voting facilities to senior citizens, specially-abled people, and COVID-19-affected voters. To ensure maximum voting in upcoming polls, absentee voters are also being provided the facility of voting through postal ballot.
