Ropar District Cricket Association beats S.D. Cricket Academy by 8 wickets

Ropar District Cricket Association secured an 8-wicket victory over S.D. Cricket Academy, Chandigarh, in a league match of the 4th Late Lala Amarnath Agarwal Men’s Senior Cricket Tournament held at IVCA Cricket Ground, Derabassi. Aryan Malhotra from Ropar District Cricket Association, who played a stellar innings of 71 not out, earned the Man of the Match award, complete with a photo.

S.D. Cricket Academy, Chandigarh, chose to bat after winning the toss, posting a total of 268 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 45 overs. Shravan Sharma contributed 97 runs, Varun Misr notched up 81 not out, Yuvraj Rai scored 43 runs, and Aarush Bhandari added 24 runs. In the bowling department, Jashan Preet Chechi of Ropar District Cricket Association took 3 wickets, while Krish Nanda, Rahul Maurya, and Navpreet Singh each claimed 1 wicket.

Ropar District Cricket Association successfully chased the target, reaching 272 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets in 43 overs, securing the win with an 8-wicket margin. Opener Jap G Pahuja contributed 67 runs, Karman Preet Singh played a brisk inning of 62 runs, Aryan Malhotra showcased a brilliant unbeaten performance with 71 runs, and Mayank Gupta played an unbeaten inning of 59 runs.

In the bowling department, Naman Ghai of SD Cricket Academy, Chandigarh, took 2 wickets.
