Rohtak employees rally against Haryana government’s unemployment policies

The employees’ union of the new grain market in Rohtak, Haryana, has accused the state government of going against its promises during the Haryana Anger Rally. The employees claim that the government is privatizing all departments to benefit capitalists, leading to unemployment. Their demands include reinstating old pensions, ensuring job security for all temporary employees, equal pay for equal work, forming the Eighth Pay Commission, addressing wage disparities among all categories, opposing outsourcing, stopping the contract system, and preventing the implementation of privatization policies.
Dharmveer Phogat, the president of the All Employees Union Haryana, stated that the government is acting stubbornly, prompting employees from across the state to gather at the new grain market in Rohtak. They have unanimously decided to support the Revenue Patwari Law Gherao announced by the Revenue Minister on February 8. Additionally, they express solidarity with the ongoing protests by the Diploma Veterinary Association and the Municipal Corporation. Furthermore, a meeting of the Haryana Joint Struggle Committee is scheduled for February 9 to announce the plan for the upcoming agitation.
A nationwide strike will take place on February 16, following the call from central trade unions and employee associations. The president of the All Employees Union Haryana mentioned that if the government does not heed the concerns of the employees, they will make the government pay the price in the upcoming elections in Haryana.
