Rohit Pawar warns uncle Ajit: ‘Target me, but address youth issues’

A day following Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s mocking remarks about the Yuva Sangharsh Yatra led by opposition MLA and nephew Rohit Pawar, the latter issued a warning. Rohit emphasized that while criticism against him is acceptable, neglecting the challenges faced by unemployed youth will not be tolerated.
Expressing his stance, Rohit stated, “He has finally woken up to the ongoing Yuva Sangharsh Yatra held to draw attention towards the plight of youth in this state. He can now look at the issues raised here. If he wants to criticize me, I have no problem with it. I am ready to face it. But I will not tolerate any neglect towards the issues faced by the youth.”
The opposition NCP MLA initiated the Yuva Sangharsh Yatra from Pune to Nagpur to highlight the concerns of the youth. During a study workshop in Raigad’s Karjat, Ajit Pawar, Rohit’s uncle and the state’s Deputy Chief Minister, ridiculed the yatra, questioning its intentions. Ajit asked, “What sangharsh (struggle) is he talking about? Have you ever done sangharsh in your life?” Despite Ajit’s alliance with the BJP, Rohit chose to remain with his granduncle and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. He is set to reach Nagpur on December 12 after covering around 800 km on foot.
Responding to Ajit’s comments, Rohit acknowledged Ajit’s historical efficiency and work ethic but questioned whether these qualities have diminished since his alliance with the BJP. Rohit also taunted the BJP and Ajit over past allegations of an irrigation scam, pointing out the bullock cart display during the Congress-NCP government’s tenure.
Taking a dig at Ajit, he remarked that during his road journey through Maharashtra, he witnessed the lingering impact of that bullock cart, suggesting that people have not forgotten the controversy.
