ROBBERS DONNING POLICE UNIFORMS ARRESTED IN DELHI

Two robbers dressed as policemen have been arrested by Delhi police in Jangpora area for cheating an Australian lady.

The Australian woman was standing near her house when two fake policemen charged her with 2000 rupees Covid challan for not wearing the mask. She denied resisted both of them but the robbers forcibly took the money from her and fled away after pushing her.

Delhi police heard a cry of help from the lady. When they were patrolling and had reached near Gurudwara, the police party rushed to the spot where it saw two persons wearing police uniform and running in a suspicious manner. The police party then chased both of them. After a short chase, they were apprehended by the police staff. Meanwhile, the lady who was robbed also reached there and stated that she is an Australian.

“She was standing near staircase of her house when those two persons came and asked her to give them Rs 2000/- as covid challan for not wearing face mask. She denied but both of them forcibly took the same from her and fled away after pushing her. On enquiry, they were identified as Vakil from Madhya Pradesh, age 30 yrs and Badrinath from Madhya Pradesh age 28 yrs,” police statement read. On sustained interrogation, both accused persons disclosed that they are addicted to alcohol and drugs. So to earn quick money and fulfill their desire of drugs, they stepped into the world of crime.
