Reasi Police have taken swift action, booking three individuals for fabricating a false terror threat and impersonating a terrorist commander in the Chassana area of Mahore sub-division. A case under pertinent sections of the law has been filed at the Chassana police station.
The investigation began when Jahangir Ahmed, son of Abrahim and resident of Malikote, reported receiving a terror threat allegedly from an area commander regarding a domestic matrimonial issue. However, as the probe unfolded, suspicion turned towards the complainant himself. It was discovered that Jahangir Ahmed, along with two accomplices, orchestrated a scheme to target individuals named Shokat Ali and Bashir Ahmed, fabricating a false terror threat by posing as a terrorist commander. The trio circulated a fake terror threat message among themselves to lend credibility to their deceit.
Under FIR 12/2024, the accused, identified as Jahangir Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Fiyaz Ahmed, have been charged under various sections of the law, including 419, 177, 182, 506, 507, and 109. The operation was spearheaded by SHO PS Chassana, Ranjeet Rao.
SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma – IPS, emphasized the seriousness of such actions, stating that any individual engaged in rumor-mongering or similar activities will face strict consequences under the law.
