Ram Mandir construction work begins in Ayodhya

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the Ram Janambhoomi Nyas, visited Ram Lalla on Monday and paid obeisance ahead of the beginning of the temple construction work in Ayodhya. During his visit, he also inspected the latest development work and announced, “Work of temple construction has started from today.”

Speaking to The Daily Guardian, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das said, “We are here to see the Ram Janmabhoomi. The court of Ram Lalla is a very sacred place. Everyone should come here to visit. The work of construction on the Ram Janmabhoomi has also started with newly installed machines.” Mahant Nritya Gopal Das has been associated with the Ram Mandir movement since a very long time, and held important positions in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

He was the president of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas before being appointed as the chief of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. Advocate for Hindu Mahasabha in the Supreme Court, Hari Shankar Jain told The Daily Guardian, “25th May 2020 is a historical day for all Hindus and everyone who believes in the rule of law and restoration of religious places damaged in the past.

We were eagerly waiting for beginning of work to construct temple of Lord Ram, at his birth place, who had incarnated about eight lakh years ago in human form.” Jain added that he has been a part of the case since 1989, when the case was transferred from lower court to the High Court. He said, “I was fortunate enough to file a petition after demolition of the disputed structure claiming right of Hindus to pay homage to the Lord and the said petition was allowed.”

The High Court gave twothird of land to Hindus against which appeals were filed in the Supreme Court. After 40 days of hearing in the apex court, judgement was pronounced on 9 November 2019. Advoate Jain said, “I had hoped to see the construction of Shri Ram temple in my lifetime. Hundreds of workers and advocates associated with the case have died hoping for a temple and their souls will now rest in peace. During hearing of the case, I faced many challenges, but that’s in the past now. Now I hope to touch the feet of Lord Ram in his glorious temple.”

The work of levelling the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex is going on since 11 May and during this leveling work, remains and parts of idols were discovered. The remains included a 5-ft tall Shivaling, six pillars of red sandstone, seven pillars of black touchstone and broken idols of gods and goddesses are said to have been discovered. Apart from this, many important relics associated with silver throne and Ramdarbar have been found from many places.
